The Master of Education Degree Programme in Special Education Needs offered by The Department of Psychology was officially launched by The School of Education. The programme is co-hosted by The College of Humanities and Social Sciences where The Department of Psychology is based and The College of Education and External Studies where The School of Education is based.

Present during the launch was Prof. Jumba (The Principal of the College of Education and External Studies), Dr. Owuor-Olunga (The Director of Institute of Anthropolgy and African Studies) representing The Principal of College of Humanities and Social Sciences, Prof. Gunga (Dean, School  of Education), Prof. Kidombo (Director, School of Open and Distance Learning), Prof. Origa (Associate Dean, School of Education), Prof. Ndurumo, representing The Chairman of The Department of Psychology and other academic staff members of The Department of Psychology.
