The University of Nairobi has scooped two awards for its efforts towards gender and disability mainstreaming in academia.

The awards were presented to the University by the Gender and Disability Development Centre.

The initiative by the Centre recognises organizations and corporations that have made efforts to make life easier for the physically challenged in the community. The awards ceremony was themed “Diversity and Inclusion Awards.”

The University of Nairobi has been ranked position 174 in the prestigious Times Higher Education (THE) BRICS & Emerging Economies Rankings 2016.

UoN is among the top 200 institutions in the 48 countries included in these rankings.

8,861 graduate at UoN’s 54th Graduation

There was pomp and celebration today, when 8,861 graduands were conferred with Degrees and awarded Diplomas during a graduation ceremony presided over by Dr. Vijoo Rattansi, the Chancellor of the University.

The graduands consisted of 84 PhDs, 2,549 Masters, 5,502 Bachelors, 76 Postgraduate Diplomas and 647 ordinary Diplomas.

Pope Francis celebrates Holy Mass at UoN

Thursday, November 26, 2015, saw all roads lead to the University of Nairobi as His Holiness Pope Francis celebrated Holy Mass at the University grounds.

The President of the Republic of Kenya, H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta, led Kenyans during the historic mass that brought together over 1 million Catholic faithful.
